I love Iowa. I love the people I call family and dear friends there more than words. I love the summertime and the constant chirp of cicadas. I love the big puffy clouds in the sky and watching how the light shifts and changes. I love the steamy thunderstorms that roll in with rumbles and claps. I love the cornfields (especially the sweet corn!), the little farmhouses and old red barns and the dusty gravel roads. I even love the humid sticky and ohh the ice cold Exile IPAs! And most of all I love the boy from the Midwest who brings me back to his hometown and shares this slice of heaven with me.

I’ve known Rach for over 4 years now and squealed into my phone when she posted that Alex had proposed earlier in the year. And squealed all over again when she asked me to photograph their wedding!

At Rach and Alex’s engagement session, their small town’s glory was on display with the most adorable shop fronts, local parks to explore, art filled walls to ogle at — and even the local bartender inviting us in for a drink to celebrate. I’ll remember how much my cheeks hurt from all the smiling we did (and they took me to meet my first llama at a farm nearby)!

Their love is all of the Lanco song: “We’re gonna be the greatest love story this town has ever seen” and holy moly I cannot wait until their incredible wedding day!
